What types of roles can be assigned to people working with Facebook pages?

There are 5 types of roles: admin, editor, moderator, advertiser, analyst.

We will talk about the Analyst type.

The analyst is exclusively allowed to see the insights of an organization’s Facebook page.

The analyst is a behind-the-scenes type of role. They don’t actively do or change anything with regards to the page’s settings, content, or audience. The only thing of use to them is the data behind the audience engagement.

This role has the least access of all Facebook page roles. An Analyst is restricted to viewing Facebook Insights and seeing who published as the Page only. They cannot create ads or post on behalf of the Page.

Analysts can only:

  • View other insights
  • View Page Quality tab
  • See who published as the Page

How to add an Analyst Page Role to Facebook Page

  1. Go to your Page.
  2. Select Settings at the top of your Page.
  3. Select Page roles in the left column.
  4. Type a name or email address in the box and select the person from the list that appears.
  5. Select Editor and choose a role from the drop-down menu.
  6. Select Add and enter your password to confirm.
  7. The person you add will need to accept the role before they can help you manage your Page.
