What is a Facebook Page Editor and what can an Editor do?
A Facebook page editor is a Facebook page role that can be assigned by the admin of the Facebook page. A Facebook editor has the right to make and change many things on the Facebook page.
Here are some of the most important things a Facebook page editor have control over:
- they can edit the Facebook page
- the can create Facebook posts and publish them
- they can delete Facebook posts
- send messages to people as the FB page
- respond to and delete Facebook comments
- ban people from the Facebook page
- Create ads, promotions or boosted posts
- View the Facebook page insights
- Check the Facebook Page Quality tab
- Publish and manage FB jobs.
The difference between a Facebook Page Admin and Facebook Editor
There is not a lot of difference between a Facebook page editor and a Facebook page admin.
A FB page editor can almost do anything a Facebook admin can do except the following:
- delete the Facebook page
- Unpublish the Facebook page
- Republish the Facebook page
- Change the most important settings on the FB page
- Assign and remove roles on the Facebook page
So as you can see, a Facebook editor can basically do anything with the Facebook page and its posts.
When should you have an Editor on the Facebook Page?
You should make someone a Facebook page editor if you don’t have time to post a lot or if you want to give someone the power to make changes on your Facebook page without having them ask your permission every time.
However, they are not the C-level executives/owners of the company so you don’t want to make them the Facebook page admin even if they will have full control over the Facebook page and its posts.
How many Editors can you have on a Facebook Page?
There is no limit on how many editors your Facebook can have on a Facebook page. You can literally add as many as you want. Although it is better to add only people who are going to post on the Facebook page.
How do you become an Editor on a Facebook Page?
If you want to be an editor on a Facebook page, you have to ask the admin of the Facebook page to make you an editor of the Facebook page. There is no official form through which you can apply to an editor role of a specific FB page.
