Start / End date
31.01.2022
You may set the duration of a new Google Ads campaign when you create it. When you already know when you want your campaign to end—for example, when a promotion or offer expires—this functionality comes in useful. Set an end date in advance and you won’t have to modify it manually when the time arrives. For example, you may select a start date for a campaign targeted to a forthcoming holiday. This page discusses how automated campaign start and end dates function, as well as when they should be used.
Unless you indicate differently, the start date of a new campaign is set to “today.” If you choose “today” as the start date, your campaign will begin as soon as your initial advertisements have been authorized.
You can change the start date till your campaign starts at any moment after you’ve established it. It is no longer possible to change the commencement date once it has gone.
Each ad campaign’s default configuration is to have no end date, allowing your adverts to run endlessly. However, if you want your campaign to terminate on a specified date, you may modify that choice at any moment. When you choose an end date for your campaign, it will expire at 11:59 p.m. (or 23:59) in the time zone you specify for your account.
How To Make A Google Ads End Date
Step 1: Make sure you’re on Google.com by opening your browser and looking to the top right. For your account, you should be able to see your profile image. Sign in to the Google account linked with the Ads if you haven’t already. Click the Square Icon to the left of your profile photograph (Google Apps Menu). Scroll to the bottom of the page until you find the Google Ads option. Simply press the button.
Step 2: At the top right of the page, click the Sign in icon. If necessary, fill in all of the sign-in information.
Step 3: You’ve successfully logged into your Google Ads account. Look for All Campaigns at the top of the screen and click it.
Step 4: The Campaigns screen will appear. Look for Settings in the left menu. Simply press the button.
Step 5: You’ll see two additional choices:
– Campaign Preferences
– Account Configuration
We’d want to be in the Campaign settings, which you should already be in. If you haven’t already, go ahead and click the link.
Step 6: You’ll see all of your Campaigns on this screen (Ads). Select the one to which you want to add an end date by clicking the box to the left of it.
Step 7: A blue line will appear at the top of the screen after the box has been selected. There will be an Edit option on this. Simply press the button.
Step 8: A magic menu with several possibilities will emerge. We’re going to use the Change end date option for this article. Simply press the button.
Step 9: Now you’ll see the Change End Date screen. We wish to select a date by clicking the down arrow to the right of it. A calendar will show after that. Choose the date on which you want your ad to expire. Select a date.
Step 10: After you’ve chosen a date, go to the bottom of the page and click the Apply button.
Step 11: The revised end date for that Ad will now appear in the Campaign settings screen.
How to set end dates for multiple campaigns at once:
- Log in to your Google Ads account.
- From the page menu on the left, click Settings.
- Select the check box next to the campaign you want to change.
- Click Edit and select Change End Date.
- Click the Select Date drop-down menu to expand it and select an end date.
- Click Apply.
Now you know how to establish an end date to ensure that Google does not charge you more than you intended to spend.
